How many of you remember this one from your childhood? The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow Book and Record narrated by Alan Cole as retold by Cherney Berg. Another one of those great gems from those Scholastic Book Clubs we had in school! A very special "Thank You" goes out to lostsoulmusic for recording the audio so that we all can listen to this again and relive those afternoons when we would come home from school, put on our books and records and turn the pages!

  • diid it bothered anyone that he wanted to marry one of his impressionable students?

  • so icabod died?

  • Whats the name of the Barouque Music played at 2:55

  • This is my favorite ghost story.

  • I remember this as I had it as a child. I'm sure it's up in the attic as I still have most everything I ever got through the years. BTW...The "tone" in the recording is a signal to turn the page.

  • @TheBookWorm1718 the book also hints very VERY strongly that the horseman was really Brom Bones.

  • Thank you thank you thank you for uploading this! My brothers and I used to listen to this every Halloween before going Trick-or-Treating until our record player broke. Then we lost the record itself in a move. It's so wonderful to hear it again after so many years :)

  • @Ander0072originalv2 The original story had it that some suspected Ichabod had been killed, but others said he went back to Connecticut, married a rich widow and became a lawyer...too bad Washington Irving never wrote a sequel, that would've been interesting to see which direction he'd take.

  • so the moocher was murdered? A bit extreme, but it makes good use of the story.

  • I have this book still. I loved these books. I have several different types.
