On a late night, we catch the Sperry Rail Car testing the rail for defects on the SEPTA mainline between Lansdale and Philadelphia. We'll catch the train a few locations between Lansdale and Ambler, PA since the car is only running at about 15MPH. So sit back and enjoy a unique look at SRS car #149.

  • Great video!!

  • @Conrail2576 Thank you!

  • Excellent footage Adam! It's interesting to see inspection vehicles like this in action. The horn on that thing sounds pretty cool too.

  • @GenesisSanctuary Thanks! The horn is probably a Leslie S-25, which fits just fine on a rail car.

  • Saw one of there Hi-Railers parked in Owego NY today on my way to work.

  • @critter7981 They're more common than the doodlebugs. Plus they like to use the doodlebugs on highspeed lines and more remote railroads.
