  • It's always amusing to read comments from clueless people. This is Sam's band, made up of Phoenix musicians (including myself) who had been playing with him for years, as well as LA backup singers. We can't help the audio mix. Sam was happy with us, and that's what matters. The bass player is Mario Mendivil, one of the best you'll ever hear. Drummer is Chris Ross, google them both up and check out their resumes.

  • SAM is GREAT!

but is it me or is that back up band just NOT grooving?

  • @mickeygoofydonaldplu if anything the audience isn't

  • I believe both sides may have a point on the quality of the band . . . they sound tight and capable to me. The standard we compare them to is impossibly high. The stable of Stax musicians was packed with legends who helped define soul music. When backing Sam & Dave, they were considered by many to be part of the best live act in the world. To my tastes, they were better than their rival Motown. The negative comments are a bit over the top. May not match the groove of the original but who does?

  • I can't hear anything wrong with this performance, it's pure ferfection!!! Sam has the best soul voice :))

  • @mickeygoofydonaldplu I like this band. They are just playing this song a lil slower than usual. Maybe its in deference to Sam Moores age. Don`t wanna wear they guy out....do we? Anyway Sam has final say on the tempo. So don`t blame the band.

  • most definitely the band..............not an ounce of soul in their veins..

  • @mickeygoofydonaldplu It's the band, you can tell by the way Sam is moving, that their ain't no groove. The rhythm is not in the slot, the bass is plinky, lacking balls, playing an over busy pattern , Horns are pumping, the backing singers...well...they move like deportment school rejects...and their puny vocals (arranged down in the mud) how can these #^*>&~ s have the gall to get up on stage with someone like Sam Moore who gives so much...and give so little.?

  • dammmmmm !!!!! i love it ... coool song ... filipino like me love it i dance it to my wife and guess what ? well u know what happen hahahahahaha.... peace !!!!
