Il était une gloire...écoutez plutôt les enregistrements des années 30-40 . A cette époque, la technique et la voix impressionnaient et impressionnent toujours.... Vieillesse ennemie!!!

When I showed this to my brother, who is learning to be a singer, he asked me: "If he gives that stunning B with 85, what couldn`t he do in his best times?" Yesterday I found the answer, an ever-lasting (11 seconds) double high C in "Di quella pira" with no breathing, of course. Lauri-Volpi and Gedda are also the only singers Ì've heard giving a high F (Credeasi misera) without using falsetto (even Pavarotti and Kraus couldn't).
