French stereotypes from a French point of view

I just wanted to comment on your last stereotype of the French being rude. In my experience traveling in France and with French exchange students in the U.S. this is a common misconception. The best way that I have come up with to explain it is that the French are kind of like New Yorkers. They are more reserved around strangers than many Americans, but when you get to know them they are very warm and friendly. Thanks for the video!

The fanciful stereotypes of the French we have in America are seeded at an early age from watching stuff like this as kids /watch?v=HNMMdBZLsX4 lol and then we're shocked when we learn about real French grammar and culture.

you can't say "we" for french people, you dont represent everyone. i'm french too and yes most of us have a terrible terrible accent when speaking english, listen to our politics, its like they do it on purpose, or never learned english and just read their speeches with french pronounciation. on another hand i think we in fact are a bit arrogant, and of course we eat better ;)

@watchout509 oops. i meant "extreme contrast."

@watchout509 i think your lip color was probably exaggerated because the camera was trying to balance against the white background and your white shirt. extreme contract.
i am and american i have at least one ancestor from france. he was from bordeaux. unfortunately, we have very little information about his life there. it was a long time ago, in the 1700's. he served in the american revolutionary war. i am proud of him.
aussi, je suis un conférencier amateur français.

@ShanaNicoleXify Your experience is not the same as everyone else's. Who knows where you went or chose to hang around. I'm sure you can find the same problem regardless of the country, depending on where you visit in the country and who you interact with.
