The Jarawa were among the first people to migrate from Africa to Asia but their way of life is threatened by increased contact with the outside. Their future now depends on the decisions of the Indian government.

  • The word 'civilized' is used very arrogantly by the lady. She actually believes that she is civilized. The other gentleman corrected her by saying that she couldn't survive living the way the Jarawa live. Perspective!

  • Jarawa were there first .This is their land. Indians are trespassing

  • Need to leave Jarawa alone...for their own good...

  • @jakejezz14 No need for your condescending attitude and profanity. You missed the context of my statement. Agreed these are 'savages.' But, they are also HUMAN! They are not animals. They should indeed by left alone by 'civilized' society...agreed. I do not pity anyone...my comment was about the ladies attitude specifically. I still think that she humanized herself and dehumanized the 'savages.'

  • The Negritos left Africa about 60,000 years ago. In modern terms, they have the same mitochrondrial DNA as the people in southern India, New Guinea, and Australia, which is hapologroup M. Blood groups and proteins show closer relations to Oceanic peoples than Africans. Their MtDNA coding falls into a subgroup M, not identified with African populations. But both Negritos and Africans have MC1R, which accounts for their black skin.

  • Please leave them alone!!

  • @uphamtimothy can you give me sources that justify your statement? Cause its hard to believe theres no genetic relationship?

  • Actually, these people did not originally come from Africa. Despite their dark complexion and hair texture, there is no genetic relationship with the Africans whatsoever. The Negritos are distinct to Southeast Asia. But they are obviously losing their culture to the Indian settlers, and in return their language. "Li dimo?" is "How are you?" in Jarawa, and as they more frequent the stores they showed, Hindi will become the currency within the marketplace, and Jarawa could disappear.

  • @BrownishBunny That is some clever bullshit you just said. There is not any arrogance at all. Someone being civilized vs uncivilized is not a big deal. Obviously the Jarawas are not civilized and are savage. Any tribal people are savage because they live dangerously. Obviously a civilized person can't live that way in this age, but it is nothing to necessarily to be ashamed of. It is stupid to pity the Jarawa people because that facilitates foreign aid which has already ruined them.

  • @heomak Melinated people should be thankful for the blessing that the Creator has given us.One day I hope we will know that we are the majoity not the minority.Your documntary is a step in the right direction.
