Knitting machine - First punchcard lace mistakes

Just a quick show and tell of my first attempt of punch card lace. I think after I finish this project I am going to pull the machine apart and give it a good going over.. well, if I can find a schematic for it.
The silly carrige kept getting jammed, because the needles were getting stuck on top of one another, which I doscovered that it was because the yarn was getting stuck on the pegs.
When I watched this video for upload, I noticed that at one of the points the needle was really bent (something you can't see as much in real life), in theroy, if the needle wasn't aligned right, the lace carrige wouldn't be able to transfer the yarn far enough so it went onto the next needle, therefore landing on the peg... in theroy.
It could just be that the needle got bent in the process of getting stuck...
This is so annoying!!! hehehe

how much weight r u hanging on the knitting, the stitch size looks v loose.

I only had like 2 of those fold our claw weights when doing that fancy lace.silly huh?

I changed to another, less fancy lace and haven't had a problem with it ( Other than needle 25), but I did add a whole heap more weight on it too. hehe

They don't say in the book to add humongous amounts of weights, lol I only figured in out when fixing a skipped stitch and pulling down on the work and seeing how much better it looked.

It's a learning curve right? ;) hehe

I DON'T KNOW WHY THE TUTOR SAYS THESE ARE STUPID LITTLE PEGS, THEY ARE THE GATE PEGS AND SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. They are there so that you can cast off round them!! Best wishes Morag Walker
