@LaurieJames - well little ~laurie ~ thats the POINT!.....even demons believe in GOD....but its the ~rest of the story!......he birth and death and life and ressurrection of Jesus The Son Of GOD.....the acceptence of HIS great offer of forgivness and the redemption of a life spent in sin ......and the New Life Of Faith in Jesus; God The Father; God's Holy Words He left us! ......that is the difference in being a BELIEVER living a Life Of Faith In Jesus Christ!.....and one that leads to hell

As you say, love is the true nature. Fear is the absense of love, of faith, of God. What Eckhart is saying is nothing new. He's not telling us anything we didn't already know. He's reminding of the truths that are written ,and have always been written, within our hearts. To the extent that we are able to listen to our hearts we will recognise this. To the extent that we listen to our egos, to our minds, to our conditionings, we will not recognise this.
And so it is. :)

MAN controls everything that gets put into the book that you have mis-interpreted. Your continued misunderstanding of God creates the manifestation of WAR and discord. Free yourself to understand that we have all been mis-guided by fear and we now have the opportunity to complete that fear and go to the other side of it, which is love - the true nature of Man and GOD.
