A more concentrated comfrey liquid feed can be made by using a press into which the leaves are packed without any water added. This method takes longer but the feed produced is very concentrated and must be diluted 1 part feed to 20 parts water before use.
Drill a pencil-sized hole-in the base of a plastic barrel. Pile in the comfrey leaves and weigh down using items such as concrete blocks and replace lid. After seven to ten days, depending on temperature, a dark liquid should start to drip out of the hole and can be collected. It will take the leaves from about nine plants to fill a 50 litre (10 gal) container. Dilute the liquid by 10 to 20 times with water, depending on the strength of feed required. One drawback of comfrey liquid is that it is fairly alkaline, and can occasionally cause a detrimentally high pH if strong doses are used regularly on the same border or container.
can you use any kind of plant in the same method?
