I have the version of the movie where the Aliens start a tidal wave across San Francisco, New York, Russia, etc. Have you seen that version?

@BullsharkPresents I saw a television version of The Abyss on channel4 UK, years ago and I think it was the theatrical release and the grittiness of the image was like WOW. It didn’t have the crap colour like the THX bullshit certification has. THX say they have strict guidelines. Well how comes is it that I see artefacts that shouldn’t even be there. The early laserdisc of The Abyss has the same colour issue. Who ever did the telecine needs to be shot on sight!

@BullsharkPresents I wouldn’t hold you’re breath for The Abyss on bluray I promise you, it will look the same. I’ve given up buying bluray because of this, crap where they take second edition DVD titles with poor colouring and transfer it to bluray at later date, to scam more money out of you, while they smile and drive around in their rich car that you helped to pay for.

@DoUWanna007 Yeah, it seems way too drawn out and kind of takes away from the story. The original release is the best.
