This is a circuit where I connect a blue LED and a push button to my Arduino Uno Rev3 and fade the LED on, then off, when I press the button. The power supply is a 9v battery in the kit's standard battery pack.

Disregard... even when doing PULLDOWN in software / the sketch, it seems a resistor is still needed to avoid noise / floating LOW & HIGH state.

Hi, Mike. I'm having a weird problem with the code, where it'll randomly pulsate even if the switch isn't pressed or plugged in. The code is untouched, aside from the starting brightness level as it needs to be 255 to be "off"...

The only non-standard physical thing I'm doing is that I'm using a 5V LED cluster with ground plugged into VIN and the hot/+5 plugged into pin9 for PWM.

    Any ideas?
