Oh Mo Dhuthaich (that means "Oh My Country" in gaelic), is one of my favourite Capercaillie songs. When you listen to it, you just have to close your eyes and bang ! you're in the Highlands...
Photos (my own) from Skye, music from album "The Blood is Strong".

  • Closing the eyes is how I always listened to music, but in this post the video is amazingly professional. Haven't seen better in this genre on YT.

  • Thanks :)

  • Thanks - nice one - hope you didn't get bitten by the midgies!

  • Midges - or why I prefer a gale-like wind to a calm evening... But hey, perfection isn't of this world...

  • The music of the Scottish/Irish Celts was both beautiful and awe inspiring. We need more of such videos on YouTube.

  • Well I do live in the highlands, and Karen is my cousin (although my second cousin). I am British by passport, Scottish by nationality, and a highlander by the grace of god. Thank god for that too. My beautiful highlands is dying, due to the massive influx of people not from here. Its not their fault, just natural progression I suppose, but its killing my culture. As one old man said to me about ten years ago.. "indeed, we are the last of the free."
