landing il-96

Landing in a Ilyushin IL-96 on Moscow SVO. The Ilyushin is a real pleasure to fly with. Very smooth. No sounds of flaps and wheels or something else like the Boeings and Airbus plane. The runway of SVO is very very bumpy....

Does any European airline flies or ordered Russian airliners? I know An124 and An225 are or were leased by EU countries but what about the passenger ones.

@keepadmiring Malev ordered some Sukhoi Superjets. Also ItaliAirlines from Italia. Also Alitalia had interest but the Russians have been fooled by the people of ALitalia.

@ollo1982 No, the reason is that russian planes are generally not as fuel economical as western planes, Sukhoi Superjet is exception and many western airlines have ordered it. Even big russian airlines are changing to western planes because their russian counterparts eat so much more fuel. Ofc that doesnt make plane itself bad, but makes no sense to operate with them.

WTF??! sounds like the aircraft is falling apart from the inside.  If an Airbus or Boeing aircraft rattled this much upon landing they would be retired years ago.

@Pvjinflight Autobrakes goes off when pilot is starting the manually braking... not when the reverse is decreasing...many airlines use reverse every freakin time... only airline i have seen so far not using reverse on every landing is Lufthansa,easyJet,PIA and Norwegian air shuttle...

@Alwayzsmilin Yes.. and comparing it with the flap/slat sound on the A380 this isnt even noticable...

@bobnoxadrez Yea.. alot more use the A340,but that doesnt make it a better plane than the IL96... The fact is that people have for some IDIOTIC reason given russia a bad name and reputation.. thats the reason they aint ordering russian planes... IF they gave the IL96,Tu204,An148 etc a chance,i would bet my pants they would like it,and see the fact that its really a VERY good aircraft! Russia build strong solid machines from from A-Z!!!
