The animals need aid too, and they are some of the most vulnerable. Pets are like children, after all, and if you lack compassion for animals, what kind of compassion could you possibly have for humans?

I can't imagine leaving my cat behind. I know that sounds gay, but he's cooler than I am.

why it's hard on people to accept humanitarian effort of really good nature?!

@colenbrak no I think I made it clear why we care for these animals, because we as humans have conditioned the animals for thousands of years to need us. they depend on us for food and shelter. we took them in, and luckily there are people out there who care enough to not leave them there to stave to death. The video makes me proud to be human because I know that there more than just heartless bastards like you out there in the world. In essence it gives me hope, but then u come along, and BAM.

People don't understand that these pets may have lost their owner temporarily or permanently. Their loving owners would want SOMEONE to take care of them and give them a life that they couldn't have. People, we need to have compassion on all levels whether it's for humans or for animals. We are human beings who gave life to our pets because of our want for them. We can only do them a favor and love them and take care of them.

@smokestackeroo people in japan still need aid. you all only care about these animals because they are "cute"
-
@colenbrak cause you can't retard... so, just because a few people decide to go in a rescue animals your going to make it out that they are choosing animals over people, and if that's what you think, then you are just stupid. please. quit embarrassing yourself with your wanna be ebonics and chip on the shoulder.

@smokestackeroo evidence? EVIDENCE? NIGGA I AINT EVEN GONNA RESPOND TO THAT

@colenbrak "resources should not be wasted on animals until all Japanese HUMAN victims are safe and have received aid. "
show me evidence of where humans are being treated secondary to animals! u can't cause it's not happening. Thankfully there are people out there, unlike u, who care about the living creatures that we have conditioned to need us. If u don't want a pet, fine, u don't have to have one, but get out of the way of the responsible people who realize the animals are counting on us.

@smokestackeroo resources should not be wasted on animals until all Japanese HUMAN victims are safe and have received aid.
Whenever a government tells you to evacuate, TAKE your pets with you.
--We saw this with Katrina. Remember, these people didn't evacuate because of the earthquake or the tsunami; they evacuated after all of that because of damaged nuclear reactors. Even the people who let their pets go, thinking they wouldn't be accepted in the shelters, should've at least gotten those pets out of the evacuation zone first before they released them.
