New toy invention featured as a video pitch to Dragons Den. Inventor Paul Collin is talking about his toy invention the Octorod that was concieved and co-invented with his 9 year old son Tanner Collin 4.5 years ago. The hope is to get onto Dragons Den to ask for $125,000.00 for 30% of the business. The money will be used for expanding the product line to include "learning towers" (i.e., ABC, 123 and/or information cards, animals/maps etc. for children) along with a glow-in-the-dark version. Id think that there is a good marketplace in heavily confined areas, as well as portable entertainment. Boats come to mind, the type of place you would want both cards and a way to pass time building.
Another is in field entertainment for the armed services, maybe even some additional application there.

Its in a competitive marketplace, the pre14yo market seems most suitable.
Low cost creation is good for overhead and margins, but potential sales volume and heavy advertsing costs are the main concern from a business side, from a product side it lacks the different sizes that legos provide and the variety of those options.
Potentially a sale to an already exisiting company, or hobby cottage industry.
Good luck.
But Im out.
