Produced by Selwyn Manning, co-editor of Scoop, for Stratos TV. The governments of the Pacific, led by Australia and New Zealand, are determined to try to force the military-led Fiji regime to hold free elections by March 31, 2009. But is this realistic? An interview excerpt with Pacific Media Centre director David Robie (from Part III).

  • Well done, David. We need more such clear views coming from "mainstream" Kiwis on Fiji situation. A democracy that fails to deliver social justice to ALL its people is not worth defending. Qarase's racist regime was one such example of a sham democracy, a racist regime which used democratic and legal processes to institutionalise racism. NZ Mainstream media appears to be unaware of this. Shame on the first world media which, like an ostrich has its head in the sand but backside exposed publicly

  • I really do believe your accessment to the current situation in FIJI.

as a fijian myself i really don't believe in so called SDL party led by Qarase and his cronies, ...practicing the same old politics used by RATU MARA, ...installing rasism and fear in the minds of indeginous fijians to justify his own political view so he can stay in power.
