  • Were the chimes very loud from where you were sitting because they didn't sound very loud on the video?

  • Yes they are quite loud and you can hear them across the city. It's just that the video was taken on my mobile phone so that's why the sound is a little quiet!

  • How many times does the clock usually bongs after the main chime?

  • After the main chime there is one bong for each hour.

    There's also the problem of wind direction. I once stood across the street from the clock and couldn't hear the chimes, since they are lighter and the wind was blowing in the wrong direction. Big Ben can be heard no matter what.

  • over 150 years running & still ticking , that is awesome. but most buildings below the age of 100 years , is considered new in england lol.
