Waco Maiden.mov

Pilot 1 1/4 scale Waco YKS-6 from Hobby Lobby. Maiden Flight. Flew with no trim changes. Awesome flyer. Looks fantastic in the air. Ended up weighing 24 pounds with Turnigy 63-74 170kv motor, 100 amp ESC, 2x 5s 5000mAh packs in series, APC 21x13W prop. Spektrum AR9100 rx, Hitec HS-5645MG servos and 2 Hobbico 2100 2s LiFe packs powering the receiver and servos.

How much flight time with that battery setup? Lovely build!

@gordonputfile I've got my timer set for 7 1/2 minutes. That generally requires putting back between 2700 and 3000 mAh into my 5000 packs. Probably could stretch it out another minute or so without problems, but that always feels like a good time to land. Flights end up being about 8 minutes.

I'd love to buy this plane but they will not ship it to the uk .pity ,it a great looking plane .well flewn ,have fun-love the video.

The shipping would really raise the cost to the uk. Mine came on a pallet with several empty cartons around it to protect it.

Which 100a ESC are you using to handle the 10s lipos?

I'm using the Turnigy Sentilon HV 100A ESC. It's good up to 12s.
