  • this is a very charming score...BUT I have to say that the 2005 King Kong love theme is much more emotional and intimate...sorry

  • @DJLOPEZ08 no need to worry my friend...everyone has their own favourite....and thats just fine. thanks for stopping by.

  • omg just found this by accident, what a flashback to childhood, soooo great! as a child i recorded the movie, one of my first tapes, and i still remember that i had to cry in the end cause i was so sad about kongs death :´(

  • @jeanwalesa thankyou for your comments jean.............glad you enjoyed hearing this again

  • How anyone can think this is the best version of Kong is beyond me. The effects are terrible (akin to Godzilla since it's a guy in a rubber suit). The story is pure cheese as since it was made in the 70's during the energy "crisis" it had to be about an evil oil company. Jeff Bridges' character is a hippy to appeal to baby boomers. This movie is a far cry from the original while Peter Jackson's was simply an update to the original (though overdone, imho).

  • @442hoeky cheers for your comments...i think that for a lot of us JB's wonderful score is a strong reason why this is our favourite kong movie. also the soundtrack in this movie beautifully compliments the tenderness that develops between kong and jessica lange's character. there is no tenderness to speak of in the original kong...he is just a monster who gets shot...and peter jackson's pointless 'remake' is virtually the same.

  • Beautiful music, i love John Barry's music, Best King Kong ever..soo sad the ending!

  • I love the John Barry music, but this 1976 version of King Kong really suck. It was a campy treatment of a legendary classic. Jessica Lange & Jeff Bridges survived this fiasco and became bonafide stars years later. I still resent Dino DeLaurentis for promising us the greatest epic ever and delivering a corny man in an ape suit (Rick Baker trying very hard). Contrary to the opinions here, The Peter Jackson version was closer to the original Meriam C. Cooper 1933 classic and I loved it.

  • I saw this at the theater when I was 12, and for the day, the effects were not bad, but just like a rock singer, you dont always like them because they were the best singer, the music, the actors, just the whole feel of it. Ive seen it at 47 years old, and I still love it. But u can never make someone younger understand your childhood memories, and why should they, one day they will have theirs

  • john barry's score is one of the best i have ever heard.

  • I have never been able to watch movies like this. Suspense makes me run from the room. Great song. Barry always will be my favorite composer.

  • 442hoeky....You're kidding me right? Peter Jackson's version was so weak...The ridiculous CGI in it...I actually walked out of the theater because the movie was a disgrace. It looked like a big cartoon and he made King Kong look and act like a pussy....And Jack Black playing that character lol come on man give me a break....The 76 version was the best...Kong looked viscous in it....Him breaking through the gate awesome!!! And the soundtrack was amazing....Fuck the new garbage one
