  • This is so sad...

Seeing it through Atheistic eyes I have to say it only strenghtens my Atheistic beliefs.

It seems like God is always absent when his best followers need him most...

The acting here is amazing and touching and brings tears to my eyes again and again//

  • @Spamphie states that he suffered this punishment for us. We all deserve this punishment, because every human is a sinner. He took it for us, and we need to accept that as truth to get eternal life heaven etc. His death had to occur, so Christians believe that his death and the events leading to it were pretty much pre determined.

Of course, the non-christian perspective is he was a deluded man who died in vain, for a cause that does not exist.

Lol, long-winded, but i hope that helped.

  • @SlappaDeBassMon -- Speaking as a devout and committed agnostic who was raised as a Christian, I would dispute your claim that all non-Christians perceive Jesus as deluded. For starters, the religion of Islam doesn't view him that way. Personally, I see Jesus as a profoundly ethical and enlightened human being -- but unfortunately, it seems to be the nature of our species (and especially individuals in positions of power) to view such people as a threat and not as a blessing.

  • The irony in this is the guy who plays Jesus actually believes that we came from aliens that left us on earth..

  • the thing with this musical is that it's the view from Judas and he sees Jesus as a flawed man who is just as confused as he is. This is an impartial twist on the Scripture, but that doesn't mean you should love it less, just know where to distinguish it as a Christian.

  • Yes, God isn't absent. He was there on the cross. He had a job to do by dying: to live.

  • @Fairywitch333 God isn't absent he was right there, Jesus had full knowledge of what he was doing and accepted it

  • @Fairywitch333 He isn't absent, all this was meant to happen. In the bible, before he was crucified, Jesus asked for God to take the responsibility from him, to let him live. At that time he was sweating blood. Jesus was basically told that this was for a reason. God doesn't forget, nor does he leave us when we need him. God is there, telling you why this is happening if you listen. It's all a matter of faith. This is all just a musical, a very good musical I saw back in 2001 but still a musical

  • Oh JC, JC, won't you smile at me...

  • @Haihaihallo it doesn't make sense to you because you don't see the full picture as to why he die and why it was necessary

  • I've seen a better cruxification at Oberammergau

  • God is so damn vengeful. Did one man have to die horribly just so he could forgive us? That doesn't really make sense to me.
