Battle starts at 1:49

In a previous mission, Tytree, Meredy, and the Descender came upon another soul inflicted by the red mist at the Rhubarb Mountains, and were approached by two men who vanished along with it. With the hint of some happenings in the Almanac Ruins, Ad Libitum (hell, the LEADER Ange is along) investigates. There they find the so called Servants of the Dawn, members of a cult of sorts that had awaited the arrival of the Descender as a type of religious figure. In order to delve deeper into the matter of this mystery-scender, the party has to force their way through.
--------------------------------------

Finally, some human opponents. The only issue I have with this battle is that they aren't too strong and fall relatively quickly. They attacks using a charged punch similar to Shadow Rush, and a slightly annoying punch that causes a wave in front of them that lags, so even if you stagger them before their fist hits you the wave still might. That wave is the same wave the gunner has in Blaze Bullet and Heat Bullet, so it's good to know beforehand how it works. They also like to use Tractor Beam, but fortunately it doesn't cause too much damage.

And this party isn't in their favor anyway *smh*. Jade is the damn Colonel, and even though his physical attack power is balanced down from RM2 he still puts up a nice fight at close range. Ange is broken beyond belief, with a basic attack string that makes gunners shudder, PLUS she heals. Then I threw in Sophie for kicks since this battle works pretty well for her. Since they are human enemies they stagger rather easily, and Sophie matches them up well enough fist to fist. Plus another small healer never hurt.

----------------------------------------
A very interesting scene after the battle. The big bad servants get enveloped in the red mist themselves and crystalize before the party's eyes, just like Joan was a few missions back. Deeper in the ruins they come upon a fairly mundane tent/temple/tent-ple from which the game's main antagonist, Lazaris, finally shows herself. Ignoring the naive pleas of her servants, she steps up and has a little chat with the party. From what I gather, the Ange is pretty riled up over the occurrences across the world and the lack of duty in Lazaris' claim to being the Descender (like RM2, the guild doesn't know the player is yet). Lazaris, however, reveals her grudge against the world Luminescia and let's her outrage do the talking.

And so the game starts actually getting somewhere. I wish there was a script I could slap onto Google Translate to elaborate a bit more but alas that's about all I could gather. If anyone could lend a helping hand, please don't hesitate to do so. If anything, Lazaris' eerie theme is more than worth the watch/listen (5:42). While there isn't much of it, it really shines through the pool of reused Tales series music.

  • DOes the descender really get stabbed by crystal in the game or is that only in the previews?

  • @KrimsonRayne1 It happens late in the game, but the Descender him/herself doesn't actually get stabbed. It's more of a figurative response to the World Tree being infected by Jildia's fangs and literally getting stabbed by them. Since the Descender is directly connected to the tree, he or she experiences what happens to the Tree at that time.

  • Yay, it's teh taisan! (Which game is Ange from? Graces?)

And I'm always surprised when they find out the player is a descender - what, there's this person that suddenly appears, can make glowy healing power thingies and change his/her job at will .. is that normal? And what the hell is wrong with Lazaris' right leg? It looks badly re-attached ..

    C-A

P.S: And why does this evil descender look so much cooler than the player's choices?

  • @CatMuto Ange is the best (imo) character from Innocence. As for the Descender thing, I guess it's just standard. Fortunately the next mission reveals it. Player descenders never look too good until late in the game *smh*

  • Sophie's Moveset looks pretty awesome in Radiant Mythology 3! I cannot wait to play this game someday. Thank you for putting her in your party Vercsase!

  • @BlazetheCat120 No problem. The Graces cast turned out pretty good considering the game they were coming from, they only have a problem with bosses that don't stagger often. I've recorded up to the final boss for this run, but I'd be glad to show off some more Sophie or Graces characters gameplay.

  • @Vercsase So its just portraying the pain the tree has, not what happens to the descender? Man I wish there was a full walkthrough on her with every little detail in it.... though that wouldn't help since I can't read or understand japanese.... T_T

  • @Vercsase Cool I can't wait to see more Sophie gameplay along with Asbel and Cheria!

  • Epic Verc demon horns should be preserved till the end of time.
