@Paulie151 The volcanic eruption is interesting, but not that interesting. It's fact that Earthquakes are what causes volcanic eruptions. Pompeii is the good example. I'm not quite sure about the 2011 Japan Quake lasting 6 minutes, because I had a friend there, and she said it was a normal length of time. About 2 minutes, but I can't be sure because there are a lot of different opinions.

@bluevidcam Chile does get large scale earthquakes, they have 3 in the top 10 of all time, with the 1960 being number 1. It was a 9.5, and there's no info saying it lasted 11 minutes. There is one interesting fact about it though, it triggered a vocanic eruption 2 days later.
Just fyi, the longest duration for an earthquake ever recorded was the 9.1 Indian Ocean earthquake in 2004 which was about 9 minutes. Comparatively the 2011 Japan earthquake was a 9.0, but only lasted 6 minutes.

@bluevidcam you mean the Great chilean earthquake? It was a 9.5, not a 9.8

@dyroc Probably. Must have been thinking of his next meal. Fat dude also.

@emmaensign6 its not just the magnitude, it also depends on the groud acceleration, and thats what causes the shaking. the 6.3 christchruch quake had like twice the ground acceleration than the 7.1 quake.
@bluevidcam its not CHILI ITS CHILE!!!!!!!!!
