The VFR1200F is unique in that it has no visible fasteners on the bodywork. Honda used automotive-style hooks and bosses to hold the fairings in place. Without a shop manual, some might find it tricky to remove the VFR's fairings. This short video will show how simple it is.

  • amendment: the lower fairing doesn't need to come off to remove the mid cowl. Also, the little phillips screw doesn't need to be removed.

  • I had the dealer perform the air filter change (K&N), the fairing looked to daunting for me to remove. After watching your video I might give it a try to change the air filter myself.

    Great demonstration

  • good work
