It's not ABC anymore. Now it is CAB. If CAB is good enough for people, it is good enough for pets. Large dog should be 100 compressions per minute. (Think of the BeeGee's song "Stayin' Alive" and compress in time with the music.) Small dog should be faster. Do not stop compressions to check airway and breathing.
