O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.

Minor sins can be expiated by doing good deeds. However, a major sin requires sincere tauba (repentance) to be erased. Three conditions for tauba are: feeling guilty of having done the sin, asking Allah's forgiveness, and avoiding it in future.

And remember no sin remains a minor sin if one continues to repeat it without repenting, and no sin remains a major sin if one repents from it.

Also "Never think about how small the sin is, think about WHO you've disobeyed."
