  • I watched your videos several times as I had an iPhone 4 with exactly the problem described. At one point I chickened out of doing the re-ball and tried to sell the phone but that fell through and the rework station i ordered came in, so I held my breath and gave it a go. I've never done any SMD work but I figured the worst I could do was trash the phone and I want to get into work like this. Anyhow, I followed your guide and it worked! I didn't have the nano ball mask so just used paste!!!!!

  • how much to fix my iPhone 4? has same problem yours does. I'd do it my self but dont have the equipment for the precedure.

  • Two comments: the repair process IS definitely not for the do-it-yourself unless you have the experience and equipment and 2) WTF Apple!? I have Apple products but this iPhone 4 dual mike is such a f*cking headache especially if your phone is past the Apple Care coverage period! Apple needs to acknowledge this microphone problem and have a recall

  • what's the right temperature to remove the IC ?

  • Very nice, but you should have used an iPhone 4 to record this video and lights to help video quality. I was hoping for an easier fix. As it is, I have to upgrade to iPhone 4s, but I'll be buying AppleCare with it in case it has the same problem. Apple should own up to this manufacturing defect even out of warranty. Their toys are too expensive, and they have plenty of dough. I've been an up-grader since the original iPhone. I have taken very good care and I don't deserve this problem / expense.

  • wow.. u r fast

  • i have this exact same problem! who can fix it for me? i tried looking for an electronics shop that does this kind of work but no luck in Sacramento CA. any chance helping me out?

  • We used to work with this exact procedure, now we work with specialised equimpment to decrease time needed. All in all a perfect working procedure. For the people without technical knowledge: don't try this at home. Bring your iPhone to a repair center that supports this specific repair.
