@knives242 Tails is a huge burden in the special stages, but he actually keeps you alive longer on normal stages, so he's half win/half lose.

The special stages in Sonic 2 are definetly one of my least favorite special stages, although the Sonic Heroes' special stages are fucking shit, mashing the X button on my controller to try and catch a chaos emerald.... Definetly not my idea of something "special". Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles are my favorite, because they were out of luck finding them

Knives I totally agree. my sister usually plays as Tails but when I'm in the Hill Top Zone he always jumps a head taking the one thing that you need (that little land on the vine) every single time. When I get on he jumps and misses, then takes the one under me.

tails can be used as a second player so if you have a friend who wont hold you back he could do the special stages with you

@Armidillodude With the console, you will keep your emeralds count if you start the game over once completed. Just let the SEGA into logo appearing once the credits at game end have ended-up, without using the reset button.

Back in the Days, after completing special stages with only Sonic, I pushed myself on gathering all 7 Chaos Emerald with Tails, and I did it, on the console itself, at age of 11 or so.

sonic 2 special zone are my favorites and i always do them with tails , he don't bother me its easy.

I wish they put Sonic 2,3 & Knuckles and maybe Sonic CD in generations. But noo...they put sonic 1. -.- which isn't a bad game. Its just, included the others. Ya know.
