Episode One: What The Word Is A Jird?

Speaking:What the word is a Jird?
A Chinchilla they are not, for they are too small
Well with all that hopping around then- it must be a Squirrel.
That's still way too big, in order to resolve this
let us recall --
all the other little rodents we can put in a ball.
How about a Hamster? Those are quite cute
Jirds lack in large cheek pouches and have a long tail to boot.
You probably already know this but all rodents are quite a like
With their beaver-esque teeth and T-rex like stance
These little fellows can put your mind in a trance
A little pink tongue and cute sniffing nose
Grabby little hands and cute tiny toes.
You've come along way on our guessing game today.
Now you think you've got it and are rather astute
for doing a little research and turning up with- a Degu
Now I applaud you, you got quite close
but suppose there is another animal that can interpose
A gerbil well done for coming up with that one!
They really do look alike with small differences to site.
The two are roughly the same in handling and care
They're skittish and Jumpy and will easily flight
Active during the day as well as the night.
Specifically the ones I own
are known as Bushy Tailed Jirds
Tyrannosaurus and Pterodactyl are their full names
They're both little boys that like playing games.
That still doesn't answer the question at start
