How do you post-produce your audio?
-
im about to buy a microphone and was wondering whats better the rode procaster or podcaster
-
Check out that APHEX module in the back. Wooo hoooo.

What I was hoping to do when I bought the Rode Podcaster was to use my webcam to produce video and use the Rode for audio. But then I have found that the Rode records as a Wav file and my webcam recording software does not copy as a Wav file. So I have been searching the web for a solution to this problem. Is there webcam software that supports wav files? Or do I need to buy a proper video camera?
If anyone reading this comment has a solution please reply.

I just love the Rode Procaster that I use with the ham radio transceiver that I have. About the difference between the Electrovoice microphones and the Procaster, don't forget the price... Best Regards, Dan YO3IBW

Am i the only one who thinks that looks ALOT like a Re-20-20? Or whatever it's called.

Great demo.
I have an old Rode-NT1
Must set it up and stop using PC mic!

NOT A FAN of the RE-27. It has a nasty buzzy sound to it even though it does bring out the highs. It's just not a good trade off for that ugly buzzy sound you get. The RE-20 is much more pleasing to the ear.
The Procaster has even more highs and lacks the nasty buzzy noise of the RE-20. Considering the fact that the Procaster is half the price of the other two, I think it's an excellent choice.

Where can I get that 309A shock mount with the big "U" shape bracket? Can it be used with the Rode Procaster?
Thank you for your time

@man91817191 Yes. They have worked very well over the years.

Mike Mike Mike! Please answer this! I just got the procaster, it makes a lot of hissing noise! What is causing it? I know for a fact it's not the cable, please help me! thanks

@HakerzTM
Do you have any other pro mic around to compare? I would try to isolate and prove it is the microphone. Is the mic itself noisy or is something in the pre-amp configured for another type of mic?
Check your pre-amp. Be sure the pad (attenuator) is off and you are NOT sending phantom power to the dynamic.

@NewMediaGear Oh I actually am using phantom power, I can't turn it off though. Would that be the cause? I actually had another mic (condenser) and it was just fine with no hissing noise. Thank you soo much for the reply Mike, I know your very busy, I hope you can find the time to reply and let me know if the phantom power is the cause, if not I'll just assume it's the phantom power and try to resolve the issue, thanks again

@HakerzTM
Most modern dynamics are fine with phantom, although it's a good habit to use Ph only when needed.
If the cable is ok, can you try another dynamic?
Check levels along the chain. Is there anywhere a level is too low or hot? Any adjustments on the preamp for impedance?
Possible it's a bad mic, but not likely. Let me know how it goes.
