There's nothing 'accurate' about butchering a safety pin and sticking it in the jack socket.

There is a high risk you'll short the connections and blow the output driver in the phone if you do this. I wouldn't recommend it!

if you want to use the am/fm radio that most phones have, you need an antenna, engineers are smart and use the long cable headphones provide for this use. this however means that you can't play it on speaker usually. all this video shows is using a paperclip as an antenna instead
