In 2007 Meet the Press interview, Mitt Romney outlines his views on illegal immigration and says the 12 million illegal immigrants should be granted citizenship.

What's so bad about humans gaining citizenship? Are we not entitled to walk on whatever land we choose to do so? Why is one race "granted" rights to stay here after pillaging, raping and eradicating an entire race but immigrants who take low wages in an attempt to survive are viewed as evil. Maybe it's not citizenship that's the issue, maybe its Americans racism and conditions for immigrants that's the REAL problem.

Well here we go again, another neocon destroying the us and out constitution. WAKE UP PEOPLE It would not surprise me if the US became a natzi Germany all over again with people like mitt. Ron Paul yes he has large ideas for change, but that is exactly what we need is change, MAJOR CHANGE. I love the Dr. Paul is a constitutionalist and bases most of his ideas from it. That is why it was written. LEGALIZE THE CONSTITUTION!

Illegal immigration has nothing to do with human rights and racism. Everybody who stamps a race card on it is flip flopping the issue and is making it about something else to gain sympathy. LEGAL immigrants should be able to become citizens because they earned it, illegals who waltz into this country, breed and live at the expense of the tax payers have no legal right to be here. Bringing up Europeans who came here first is a moot point.

Basically, he says illegal immigrant should be able to get pathway to citizenship after they wait a certain period and go to their home country for a period, and come back.

My own view is consistent with what you saw in the Lowell Sun, that those people who had come here illegally and are in this country--the 12 million or so that are here illegally--should be able to stay sign up for permanent residency or citizenship, but they should not be given a special pathway, a special guarantee that all of them get to say here for the rest of their lives merely by virtue of having come here illegally.
