@LOKMETADASANTUNATWAI The russian guy has done atleast 170 in snatch at comp and because the chinese has another style and are 4kilos better isnt only because of the style it self.
Triple extension, catapult, etc all that crap made up by the americans trying to figure out why there are countries 1% the size, spending 1% of the money and dominating them in weightlifting. Grab the bar, jump, and get under there as fast as you can. When you look at slo-mo:s of the lifters, you get the wrong idea on what they are doing as you look at still images of certain points of their lifts. The truth is, that what 99% lifters think is pulling the bar up, is the lifter going under it.
@avinakos While I heavily disagree with your analysis of the lift, I do agree that "triple extension" is not really what happens when we observe olympic weightlifters. However, neither is the so-called "catapult". Lu Xiaojun tops Perepetchenov in the snatch by at least 10 kilos in the 77kg weight class. He currently holds the world record snatch of 174 kilos and a record total of 378kg (-77kg). You'll observe that he "triple extends" in all of his lifts. Conclusion: the difference is NEGLIGIBLE.
Oh wow, what is with that extension? He barely elevates his heels - I mean it obviously works for him but can someone explain to me how he still gets all that height on the bar?

@ellie050394 this is essentially the catapult technique... i.e., lifting from the hips and through the heels. not that triple extension bullshit.
