AWESOME!!! Love this! What a scene! The ST Universe gaves us great scenes. Especially compared to the UFOs of Youtube..LOL...You want me to join your rank, show me a UFO as clearly as those CGI animation...and even then...what's the point?

Start trek at its best is about exploring the unknown, expressing through fantasy human problems and weaknesses and the drive to overcome them.

This - frankly, is crap. Explosions, more explosion, and even more explosion - what's next? What could possibly follow if not more explosions?

Sorry for being so judgmental, and I am sure it took an effort to put this scene together, but it sucks where Start Trek went from Picard, Data, time paradoxes, Darmok and Q.

All good things end, I guess.

Edit: Yeah, some of the newer ships look like they don't have shields either. I guess it was to make it more intense. Also, the Breen weapons can penetrate shields. Thats why the alliance had to pull back until they learned how to modulate their shields.

I remember when this first came out and I said yeaaaahh!!! The Klingons!

The reason it appears that the ships have no shields is the type of ships that are being destroyed. You've got Miranda class ships (Wrath of Khan) and Birds of Prey (Star Trek IV) fighting alongside ST:TNG ships. 20 year old shields are not strong enough against Dominion and brand new Cardassian ships. Wow, I feel like a dork :)
