Asus Eee PC 900 Review

Im gettin this laptop soon. Its my first laptop. I have one question: Is linux those tabs that say like, play,learn and stuff like that? All I know is that it comes with linux and you CAN install Windows. So Windows is waht most people have on a full desktop? Sorry for the questions I'm clueless.

Yes Linux has tabs like you mentioned. If I were you, I'd check the Acer Aspire One.

Yeah I heard better reviews on the Acer Aspire One. Again, its up to the user. I thought I was going to love it because it was light... if you need help, let me know.

First of all don't use Firefox on Netbooks, it makes them overheat and is very slow. I installed Jolicloud on my netbook and use Opera and Chromium browsers, Google docs, and it's lightning fast. even faster than my dumb macbook.. I even watch Netflix streaming on it. If you have fat fingers like me just use an external usb keyboard and mouse. just google "jolicloud'

Well i am getting my second gen. But it is not linux. I have windows xp which is Slight easier and faster to work with. Im not a huge fan of linux. So idk.

I love my PuppyLinux-powered 900.

If you are unhappy with yours ("I'm doine with it"), sell it to me for $100 shipped and we will both be happy. :-) My wife keeps trying to steal my Eee so she needs her own...

I think it would work fine for college; use the built-in KB in the classroom then plug in your fullsize usb keyboard/mouse/monitor at the dorm when you need to type in that 5-pager at the last minute. :-)
