Kent Shockley driving Shockwave in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada. It was 100 degrees and you could still feel the heat from the 3 Pratt and Whitney jet engines. Kent does a 5 minute show to build anticipation while shooting flames from the smoke stacks and billowing plumes of smoke from the jets before lighting the afterburners. You can hardly hear the sound of the train horn over the roar of 36,000 horsepower. The car ran an 8 second 1/4 mile at over 200mph but that's hardly scratching the surface of what the jet truck is capable of. It holds the world record for jet-powered full-sized trucks at 6.63 second. You can see people running away from the side of the drag strip because of the heat.
