President Barack Obama says he will veto bills that don't freeze non-national security spending. Obama told Congress he says he wants a three-year halt on additional spending. He says Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security would be exempt. (Jan. 27)

The Senate refused to support his proposal to have a Bipartisan Task Force overseen Budgets Cuts in bipartisan fashion. The vote was short of 60 required because only 36 Democrats, Liebermann (I), & 16 Republicans supported it. The AARP, Anti-Tax groups and Republican support groups for political points joined forces to force the others Senators to vote against it. The political Blackmail ahead of potentially major change elections in 2010 of the Senate was a blow for both Obama & Democracy.

well looked to me once again the repubs do not want to help & will vote no they did not clap when obama said the banks should pay us back hmm Seems they are on the side of the banks & still want the taxpayers to payin the future. same old stuff as when they made this problem befor when they where in charge. they also had to be promped by one to clap when Obama said we need health care reform so they beleive in no reform at all so they have been lieing for weeks.
