Gyrfalcon sharing with a Saluki, Gyrfalcons are badass. Native to Greenland, they are the largest falcon and can knock a Canadian Goose out of the air at 2000 ft. Falcons and dogs have evolved a mutually beneficial relationship over thousands of years, whereby food is shared by the falcon and their protection from other predators such as wolves is taken on by certain dogs. Salukis are badass too and can take out a coyote at full speed.
She... She's feeding the saluki!

General falconers can have Gyrfalcons, @mylittleparrot . The Modern Apprentice is even better than NAFA, too.

By the way that is both a gorgeous Gyre and a lovely Saluki. Nice to see them socialized, proving it can be done with the right bird.

In the US only licensed Falconers can have birds of prey. Only licensed Master Falconers can have gyres, licensed Apprentices can only have American Kestrels and Red-Tailed Hawks. Those who breed birds will only sell to people with licenses. Possession of a bird of prey without a license is 5 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. For information on becoming a licensed falconer look up NAFA. NAFA is not the only resource but it is the largest and best organized.
