End CRP (conservation reserve program) Thats where lazy or old farmers, not all but many, are paid to seed land into grass. And most years cannot graze or hay it. A program that pays farmers NOT to grow food.

Instead of providing FOOD, let's require PARENTS to pay for their own children's food. Let's end dependency on gov't. Let's make it so that children don't NEED gov't money.

America is a democratic myth, we are a two party single headed system, when it comes to issues that matter to the corporations, both parties vote the same way.
A story as untrue and out of date as this, would have been better left uncooked!

@hempseed57 Yeah and with 80%-90% of the food grown now is GMO and ain't gonna end starvation under any circumstances yet the Hemp seed could on its own.

@cookingupastory Yes but the "wealthy" are NOT being taxed and they will NEVER be because they buy and pay for the government that we have. This administration is taxing the middle class into the ranks of the poor and that will only make the problem worse.

@hempseed57 Amen! You beat me to it. This interview was the blind leading the blind.

As a child, I was homeless and suffered from malnutrition (anemia) I was help by family and my Church. No one owed me a living. I was inspired to get an education and take responsibility for my life. My wife was raised under the welfare system. She has had problems with debt because she has the welfare mentality “It Is Owed To Me”. I have through Love helped her to fight that mentality we are responsible for our lives. We also give time and money to those in need. The government is the problem.

@heyerstandards What about this makes it nonsense? Or are you just trolling?
I hate to say it and I know I am going to sound like a troll, however if this guy believes in Obama then he hasn't done his homework. A monsanto employee is the head of the FDA. the stimulus package went mostly to banks. Bill s510 the list goes on. This man doesn't know what he is talking about. If he wants to feed America then all it will take is to stop the banks robbing America Blind. Then America wouldn't be spending trillions to blow up brown people trying to encircle Iran.

@hempseed57 This interview was recorded early Spring 2009 - before much of what you refer to had occurred. Berg makes an important point society has come to look upon the poor as being unworthy recipients of government largess, it's those who are the wealthiest in our society (and the wealthiest corporations) that have benefitted the most from government hand-outs (ie, corporate subsidies, and tax advantages). The inequality of wealth in this country is threatens our democracy.
