I too own an LS1216L, and I love it! Just like Pulina99 says, huge capacity which is always nice.

Ive just bought the LS1216L and its a beauty. Huge capacity, second only in smoothness to a Kapex and wont bog down on big pieces. Good combo with the Dewalt stand. Go 12" for the little difference in price. Just built large outside deck, didnt flinch and no tearing / splintering of timber....
