What a nice groove , an amazing Bass player this Etienne M'bappe. One of my favorites. The drummer too is damn good, without forgetting the Master Himself on guitar. Nice stuff

E M is not bad but there are a lot of better bass player on the market.

thats mclaughlin for you... crazy funky groovy stuff with a huge jazz influence and a blues twist

That has to be the weirdest neck I've seen. Half scalloped and twsited frets?
-
you know what, I love John Mclaughlin, and find this group's jam is creative and technically accomplished.
However, I was expecting more. Where's the personality? sure the bass player has a fat smile on his face but he is the only one! there isn't enough communication, its a free-form jam with a great soloist but this isn't a bonded group, if tight.

@zicmudigger Gary Husband is the drummer, played allot with Allan Holdsworth.

@blondsummer i thinkhtere are no overdubs at all
-
@matthimsa The fretboard is actually half-scalloped.

My all time favorite artist besides Monk and Jean Luc Ponty...McLaughlin defined fusion!

Can't stand that bass tone, (killer Player tho) what happen to tones?,
I see my petition too outlaw the 5 string bass has not passed,
Plug those instruments into a bunch of broke down
stereo gear purchased from goodwill, call me in the morning, By the way, -John sounds killer!!!
This album was recorded in 3days without overdubs...Amazing!!!...John plays his special neck Godin Freeway in a Mesa Boogie VTwin preamp,MXR stereo chorus and Boss Delay DD7.
