Driving Across America -- Wes Davis recording Western Plains 1
From Phoenix to Bisbee -- these are my favorite photos and amigos from my 6 week road trip across the USA. The trip started in San Diego. I played an open mic in Tempe and then hit the road to meet up with Dylan Charles in a little town called Bisbee -- near Mexico and the (rock climbing) spot known as Cochise Stronghold. I scored some open mic action at the Stock Exchange and then spent the next few days recording the song you are listening to and hiking around Bisbee. Dylan Charles playes piano, drums and upright bass -- I play harmonica and guitar and do the vocals. You should listen to Dylan Charles -- his new CD Time for Breakfast has some sweet tracks about Arizona and the haunted house that you see in these photos. Note that my car had 2005 tags on it...5 years outdated...it was registered but still, explaining that repeatedly to the New Mexico PD was a pain in the rear.

From Bisbee to Texas -- this part was a bit of a blur. Lots of night driving and a night near Carlsbad caverns. I would post up in little weird towns to record. I don't think I got much done between Arizona and Tennessee. I could have headed south for Austin, but in the end I was hoping to make it to West Virginia to visit my family.
Shown in this video are a few awesome musicians like..... Terry Wolf, Dylan Charles http://www.dylancharles.com , Ramblin Ed and Pat Gahn
(I will post more sections of my trip soon -- this trip happened in 2009....)
