HERE IS THE KALIMBA PRESET:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?o7lavj776vjjb38

A quick tutorial on how to make the opening synth hook from Bromance and the dance hook that comes later in the song.

This tutorial is more focused on showing you the proper notes for the hooks than getting the perfect synth sounds that he's got. I think the delays I set up are pretty accurate though.

Feedback is always appreciated, and let me know if you'd like me to make any other tutorials or do some more work on this remake/re-creation.'

  • @mikers3000 LOL!!!!!

  • what's the piano that you are using for the second synth?

  • @andreraf it's Yamaha Grand Piano, an EXS24 software instrument that comes with Logic Studio 9

  • @teagankelkmusic thanks. do you know how to recreate the synth from levels by any chance? the house lead part?

  • @andreraf HAH! funny you should ask man. I had a go at re-creating that sound aaaaages ago. I'll do some more work on it and post what I got.

While you wait, i would suggest you mix a piano, saw wave synth, and strings together. Then experiment with compressors (with slow attack... 20ms maybe?) on them.

  • @Michalek15171 The only synth I bought was Massive, and I don't really use it.... I prefer the ES2 and EXS24. Nexus and Sylength would be nice but personally I don't need them at this point.

  • @teagankelkmusic So maybe just load it up with Nexus and Sylenth and your all set? Or does it have a great electronic library. I hope its not like garageband with 30 different trumpets and 10 different guitars. hahaha

  • @Michalek15171 I really like Logic for producing electronic music, yes. :) Most people I know use FL Studio or Ableton Live though, I don't know too many other people that use Logic.

  • Unreal man niceeee. is logic good for electronic music??
