Assault on Nashville Anonymous: Ideal Org Opening, 25 April 2009 (Part One)

Last Saturday was the opening for the new Ideal CC here in Nashville -- it's kinda like a Scientology cathedral, so serious business. Their Chairman (like a Pope), David Miscavige, was in town and brought OSA agents with him for protection. There were five of us who decided to come and protest for the benefit of all of the people who were being led down an alternate route because 8th was closed for the Scientologists' party. Four of us were going to protest and one successfully infiltrated the Scientology party.

The Scientologists had purchased a permit for the sidewalks from Olympic to Vernon (http://i41.tinypic.com/160xulu.jpg), so we knew we could stand at the corner opposite Olympic and 8th. We could see the beginning of the sidewalk closed area on the other side of Olympic (http://i40.tinypic.com/j6h8wy.jpg). As we started walking up to the intersection, a combination of OSA members and people from a local security company ran toward us (http://i41.tinypic.com/bfesg5.jpg -- the suit woman in the background is definitely OSA bureaucracy), screaming that we need to 'FUCKING TURN AROUND' and that the sidewalk was closed. When we tried to say that the permit didn't reach this far down on 8th, they said that we were wrong and that we needed to leave. OSA is vicious, so we said that fine, we would go behind the sign they were talking about (the LEFT LANE CLOSED sign which the woman said was the beginning of the closed sidewalk).

Eventually, they pinned one of the Anons to the ground (http://i44.tinypic.com/208eb1f.jpg) and told us that if we didn't leave, they were going to arrest us too and that the Anon was going to jail because he broke the law. Here's what i am going to say. I do not believe in Scientology and that is my right as an American citizen. However since the day this country was founded, we've had the freedom of religion. You have the right to believe whatever you please, even if it's some religion worshiping some lizard creature. I choose to believe in the ONE true GOD and his son Jesus Christ. If you really care, share the WORD OF GOD with these people. Don't try and spread hatred, becausing u ma'am are doing just that.

And we don't believe in religion versus religion. What we're protesting is things like their human rights abuses. We're fortunate to live in a country that gives us the right to protest whatever we please if we feel that it needs to be protested. That is an awesome right to have, especially when we're not using it to proselytize.

Pretty sure you shouldn't be calling 911 for a non-emergency situation like that... although I'm not agreeing with their over-aggressiveness & unjustified behavior... it's too bad there weren't more of you guys out there, or you might've stood a better chance. oh, and I would have resisted just like that one kid if I were you guys. lol.

Upon second look, this is even more fucked. All that sign said was "right lane closed" there was no indication of anything. This is just pure unjust bullshit. $cientology has shown their influence (and thier asses) again.
