I tried the jig briefly last year. It works well, but I had trouble with the core slipping in the clamp. I prefer hand held for small cores but plan on experimenting more with the chest crutch and indirect percusssion which seems to have great potential...

This was a great series Jim, as always! You are doing fantastic work, from most of the archaeological collections I have seen blade cores in they are totally exhausted or truncated. A simply inherently beautiful artifact well still intact. Take care and thanks again!

Thanks, some of the exhausted Meso American cores have extremely long delicate narrow flake removals, simply stunning! I am back into trying to more accurately replicate them as well as some flint Spanish Cores that appears to have pressure flake removals, lots of fun!...jim

A friend is doing an educational study on blades and cores and I sent all the blades along with the core to him for his research. Glad to see it put to good use. I plan to make some tools with other core blades, possibly an Aztec sword....thanks...jim

very interesting! Your a great teacher, methodical, technical and precise! As always enjoy your videos and appreciate the time you take to help us out! Editing is a longer process than making the pieces, Thanks for the Show!

Thanks Steve. My editing consists of just turning the camera on and off! Thats why my videos are long winded! Glad you liked it....jim
