My son is actually celebrating his 20th birthday today! It was nice to hear him sing again...even it it was 2 years ago...

  • cool i wonder who arranged this version because we're gonna sing this version too this year for Kamehameha Schools's Song Contest.

  • Maholo Kamakazi42012,

Wish I could help with the answer to the arrangement. Please have someone capture your voices and send me your song if you can. I would LOVE to hear you!

So I gather you are in Oahu? NICE. I lived there (emi hope haole) for 4 years growing up on the beaches :)

    WIN that contest!

My son is a true haole boy, but he has a emi hope haole Mom who grew up on Oahu kō ʻoneʻi poʻe below the Pali :)

Oh how I miss the waves and my boogie board. Ahh the memories!

This chorus is in Nevada County, California. Hipahipa

  • Wow, pretty good for a whole lot of haole boys from someplace on the Mainland. An Ulili is a California Golden Plover and it does migrate between Alaska & Hawaii. The song is about how the bird runs and dances on the beach and travels from place to place.

I would be interested in knowing from which city and state this chorus sings.

    Mahalo
