Lincoln-Way Marching Knights1999-2000 ISU Finals

This is a video recorded by a band parent @ the 1999 ISU Marching Band State finals. I believe the video was originally recorded by the Bengstons.

Lincoln-Way did clinch victory with this performance. It is something I will never forget.

I recently had a chance to speak to some current marching band members. He and others heard about this historic performance, but never had an opportunity to see it. Here you go.

Personally, this was one of the most difficult shows I performed. It was worth it

This was when Lincoln-Way was still a single school with two campuses. Just look at the size of us!

We were under the direction of Mr. Clifton Smith. He later left Lincoln-Way to pursue further education, and eventually returned to direct Lincoln-Way East.

I'm a '94 grad of LW, and Marching Knight alumni. (Ya think with the user name?) My husband and I were out late on this night, and when we came home, there was a message on our machine left by my father around 11 p. (Thought someone had died!) When I found out that LW had taken it all at ISU, I was jumping up and down around my apartment like the Cubs had just won the WS. This is the 1st time I've actually seen this show. Thank you so much for sharing it.

I am sitting here crying watching this after 11 years. I remember the show like it was yesterday. We as parents got so much joy from the way these kids dedicated themselves to this program. It was a pleasure to see again and hear "Band are you ready? .....SIAM!!!!!!!"

You are right, the program is nowhere near what it was before the split of all the schools.

I went to Herscher High and remember watching this show, standing and cheering at the climax with tears of joy streaming down my face.

It to this day remains one of the most impressive and moving musical moments of my life.

this is back when the marching knights were incredible and people were actually proud to be in it. people used to be impressed when they heard the name marching knights but i don't think i can say the same anymore.
