Lamar LED Billboard

This is the first LED billboard in Valdosta Ga. Really Interesting technology in these. The images are loaded to the sign via an internet connection to a computer located in the metal box below the sign. It uses a 1GB compact flash to store eight images. Would be pretty cool to see one of these hacked. lol

I wonder if you can get more memory, for more images, lol, my family is starting a huge indoor/outdoor flea market off the highway, and we want to put up a billboard and I'm trying to find the pricing on these things, and to see if we can get more images than 8 (We need at least 2)

I have never worked with these signs, But from a technology point of view I don't see why you couldn't have any other size compact flash card installed.

I'm not sure about the laws around here but I do know since posting this video of the first one here, We now have them sprouting up everywhere, About 8 so far & the new ones have a screen on both sides, I kind of like watching them, Especially at night.

This is not true. Local zoning laws and existing transportation laws prevent such displays.Plus,Lamar would not want display something that would cause auto crashes.

The purpose of the video, I just took it for fun I'm always interested in new technology, These you just buy the space you need unlike wallpaper billboard you could just buy a weekend or a day or two.

Yes its capable of displaying HBO, but it probably wont cuz either Lamar or ClearChannel have advertising contracts, and depending on local laws signs cant display real video because its posted near a federal road or highway.
