  • She has a fine instrument, and manages this difficult piece, even if she hasn't managed to master it. She didn't sing badly, but she isn't a coloratura, and shouldn't be compared to a coloratura's lighter, and more agile, rendering. I would rather hear her in something other than this florid Verdi piece. She will likely emerge as a lyric-spinto with a good top extension. Not every soprano that can sing an Eb is a coloratura, that is a common misconception. She needs to find her fach.

  • @belcunto of course, me too :) This girl needs to open her eyes - are the stage lights shining right into her or what? And gosh the phrasing... there are so many great sopranos in recording to hear the correct phrasing from, but this... goes against Verdi's markings in so many instances.

  • I have never seen a singer looked more pained while she sings.

  • A voice with IMMENSE possibilities and a good future! Yes there are things that need polishing, but until you can stand up and do better yourself, you need to learn to give CONSTRUCTIVE and informed criticism, or rather remain quiet! With further good coaching this young lady stands on the brink of becoming one of the 21st century's outstanding coloratura sopranos! She can be taught to make more of her trill and to work on her phrasing, which is already pretty good! Keep it up and aim HIGH!

  • I know it's easy to criticize but it's horrible: almost no musicality, no pathos, no phrasing, no understanding of the words. Dame Sutherland was applauding? And so what? What else was she supposed to do? Stand up and tell her to shut up? This girl is no soprano sfogato as Elvira should be! The cabaletta is awful, enunciation is terrible and NO TRILLS! 06:17 and up is a TOTAL MESS.
