I think this is very well sung by SR. The "X" factor that is provided by the MS version is that it stirs you soul as if she is singing directly to the Lord.

Different compositions suit different artists. In the North two artists can take the same raga and mold it in their own style(composition) but are able bring out the same bhav. I am still trying to understand the Carnatic music system but love listening to these great artists. Cant help but admit that MSS's version has some amazing bhakti in it. Aruna did a great job as well.

pls stop comparing anyone to MSS. Sudha has done a very good job singing this song and thats all it matters. I sat thru and entire Sudha's concert for 3 hours back in early 2000 or 2001 . She is a great artist.

dont look at the song as a revolver that is gonna kill you if you mishandle it.

this is a devotional song. anyone can sing it as far as they have god in mind. good or bad doesnt matter.
