@rematpac That's an interesting take I'll have to think over. I just thought the chess scene was a link to the novel that was kept even though SPECTRE replaced the original Soviet bureaucratic plot.

@hamburgareable Because the President doesn't got to a movie theater, he has one in the White House and they bring him the projector reels. This is the last one they showed. And in 1963 there wasn't any other method to watch movies.

this and casino royale (2006) are definitely the best bond movies..surely because they are true spy movies

@trwent Interestingly enough in the book he chose to sit there and finish the game rather than jump up and answer the call from SMERSH, which got him in trouble.
